ABOUT Dr L Sashidhar Reddy

Dr. Sasidhar Reddy currently works as a senior consultant and takes care of patients who need liver transplantation surgery and other operations related to the Liver and Pancreas. He has over 13 years of experience in these types of complex surgeries. He has personally performed more than 600 liver transplantation operations, where a new liver is put in place of the diseased one. After finishing his basic medical degree, he received special training in general surgery. Then he did an additional course to learn about gastrointestinal and liver transplantation surgeries from a reputed hospital in Delhi called Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

Some of his notable achievements include being the first doctor to do a liver transplant along with kidney transplant in one patient, even though their blood groups did not match. He also successfully performed open heart surgery and liver transplant together in a child suffering from two different critical diseases. He has shared his work findings in medical journals and conferences. He is also a member of important surgery-related organizations. Due to his vast experience over the years, leadership qualities and focus on research, Dr. Reddy is very well-qualified to head major transplant departments in India.
